It is our belief that the whole of something is much greater than the sum of its individual parts. It is for this reason that we will strive to be a team. Not just a group of talented individuals. No one player is bigger than the team.
We will take ownership of our own play and our own actions and not place blame on others. That is why we will have a solution mentality. If something goes wrong we will work as a team to find a solution rather than placing blame.
I believe in having a process driven mentality and not an outcome driven mentality. Learning how to handle adversity and focus on the right now. We don’t always have control over the outcome but we do have control over what we do right now. We do not have control over whether or not we will face adversity. The fact is you will face adversity. One error, one play or one series will not define who we are but what will define who we are, is how we deal with and react to that adversity. This pitch or this moment is what matters. In baseball you are playing against the game. Not your opponent. Play the game the right way, do what you are supposed to do, every time you are suppose to do it. If you play the game to the best of your ability, put in the hard work, have focus, a great attitude and give effort, you will see results and the winning will come.
Baseball is a journey. If you are only focused on the outcome, you will lose sight of the moment. You will not be able to maintain your focus of the right now. Enjoy the journey. Enjoy the work.
